At Radon Rescue, every radon mitigation system is custom-designed and installed to meet your property’s specific needs. Our process follows industry best practices, Health Canada guidelines, and includes fully certified HEPA dust containment that meets OSHA standards for a virtually dust-free installation.
Step 1: Site Evaluation & System Design
- Our certified technician begins with a full assessment of your property, including the foundation type, radon entry points, and radon test results
- A customized mitigation system is designed to achieve the greatest reduction in radon levels while minimizing the visual impact on your home or business
Step 2: Creating the Suction Point
- A hole is drilled into the foundation slab (or sump pit, if applicable) to create a radon suction point
- In some cases, multiple suction points may be required depending on the size or layout of the property
Step 3: Installing the Vent Pipe & Fan System
- A pressure field extension test is performed to ensure system will be adequate
- A vent pipe is installed from the suction point to exterior of the home to safely exhaust radon gas
- A specially designed, quiet radon fan is mounted to pull radon from beneath the foundation and vent it outdoors
- All piping and fan components are sealed and secured for long-term durability
Step 4: Sealing Entry Points
- Cracks, gaps, and other radon entry points in the foundation are sealed with professional-grade materials to improve system efficiency
Step 5: System Testing & Quality Check
- Once the system is installed, we test it to confirm proper airflow and function
- A manometer (pressure gauge) is installed on the vent pipe to allow easy monitoring of the system’s performance
Step 6: Post-Installation Radon Testing
- After installation, we conduct follow-up radon testing to ensure that levels have been successfully reduced to within Health Canada’s recommended guidelines
- A pre installation & post installation negative pressure back draft test is performed
- A detailed report is provided to the homeowner or property manager
